Products Description of Tolylene-2,4-diisocyanate CAS#584-84-9
Toluene Diisocyanate (TDI), with the chemical formula (OCN)₂C₆H₃CH₃, is a water-clear to light yellow liquid characterized by a strong, pungent odor. It reacts with water to release carbon dioxide. TDI has a specific gravity of 1.22, making it denser than water.
TDI is a toxic chemical that may pose hazards through inhalation or ingestion. It has strong irritating effects on the skin, eyes, and other tissues. The threshold limit value (TLV) for TDI in air is 0.005 ppm, while the immediately dangerous to life or health (IDLH) concentration is 10 ppm.
