Products Description of Vitamin E (Tocopherol)

Vitamin E, also known as tocopherol, is a high-performance antioxidant and essential nutrient with excellent biological activity and a strong safety profile for food applications. It is widely utilized in pharmaceuticals, dietary supplements, food products, and cosmetic formulations.

Vitamin E appears as a pale yellow to yellow or yellowish-green transparent viscous liquid with little to no odor. When exposed to light, its color may gradually become darker. In its natural state, it can solidify during storage and melts at approximately 25°C.

As a fat-soluble vitamin, vitamin E exists in eight naturally occurring forms, including four tocopherols and four tocotrienols. The vitamin E commonly referred to is mainly α-tocopherol, which appears as a pale yellowish-green transparent viscous liquid. It is readily soluble in organic solvents, insoluble in water, and shows good heat stability, although it is highly sensitive to oxygen and easily undergoes oxidation.

Vitamin E CAS#2074-53-5

Vitamin E is an essential nutrient for the body, although its precise physiological functions have not been completely clarified. As an antioxidant, it helps protect cells from oxidative damage and can work synergistically with selenium in dietary applications.

Vitamin E is mainly used to prevent miscarriage, recurrent abortion, and threatened abortion associated with vitamin E deficiency. It is also applied in the treatment of infertility and nutritional megaloblastic anemia in infants.
