Cyclamen aldehyde is a powerful floral and green fragrance note widely used in perfumery. It can be incorporated into fresh, floral, green, and ozonic or marine accords. Its growing use and importance are also attributed to its ability to help create replacement accords for fragrance materials that are no longer available to perfumers.
Cyclamen aldehyde offers good overall stability except under extreme pH conditions. It also provides good tenacity and substantivity, making it a cost-effective ingredient for new fragrance creations.
In addition to its use in a wide range of perfume compositions, cyclamen aldehyde serves as an intermediate in the preparation of fungicides and fungistatic substances.
