Chlorophyllin is a group of water-soluble salts that are semi-synthetic derivatives of chlorophyll. Its major form, the sodium/copper derivative, can be used as a food additive and in alternative medicine.

In alternative medicine, chlorophyllin may be used to help reduce the odor of urine or feces and may also be used to improve the quality of life of people experiencing fecal incontinence associated with spinal cord injury, bowel cancer, psychotic disorders, terminal illness, or other conditions. It is also available as an herbal supplement.

Chlorophyllin can bind to certain mutagenic substances, including polycyclic aromatic compounds such as benzo[a]pyrene and dibenzo{a,i}pyrene. As a topical preparation, it can be used for the treatment and odor control of wounds, injuries, and other skin conditions, including radiation burns.
