Products Description of Benzyl Alcohol CAS#100-51-6
Benzyl alcohol (CAS#100-51-6) is a simple aromatic alcohol compound. It appears as a colorless and transparent liquid at room temperature. The pure product has a mild, pleasant fragrance resembling that of hyacinth. Due to the presence of impurities, industrial-grade products may have a slightly bitter almond-like odor or a more pungent smell.

Product Application of Benzyl Alcohol CAS#100-51-6
Benzyl alcohol is widely used as a solvent in the dielectrophoretic alignment and reconfiguration of nanowires, as well as in inks, paints, lacquers, and epoxy resin coatings. It also serves as a precursor for various esters used in the production of soaps, perfumes, and flavoring agents.
In pharmaceutical applications, benzyl alcohol can be used as a local anesthetic to help reduce the pain associated with lidocaine injections. It is also used in a variety of personal care and consumer products, including baby products, bath products, soaps, detergents, eye makeup, blushers, cleaning products, cosmetics, and hair, nail, and skin care formulations.
