Products Description of Polystyrene Resin
Polystyrene resin offers several advantages, including being tasteless and odorless, having low specific gravity, and appearing colorless and transparent. It also allows easy coloring, has a hard structure, exhibits stable chemical properties, and does not absorb moisture.
It is produced through a process in which ethylene is obtained from benzene (derived from coal tar or petroleum) and ethylene gas. The resulting material is then dehydrogenated at 600°C over a metal oxide catalyst to produce styrene monomer. Finally, polystyrene resin is obtained through catalytic polymerization using inorganic or organic peroxide or azo compound catalysts.

Product Application of Polystyrene Resin
Polystyrene resin can be used as an adsorbent for concentrating organic substances from water.
It is also widely applied in radios, televisions, high-frequency electrical equipment, toys, and household appliances such as cups, combs, hooks, brush handles, soap boxes, and similar products. In addition, it is used in refrigerator interiors, paint base materials (such as styrene-modified alkyd resins and styrene-modified epoxy resins), and foamed materials (styrene-based foaming products), among other applications.
